Rwanda signs host agreement for African pharmaceutical technology foundation
Kigali, 18 December 2023 - Minister Vincent Biruta and Professor Padmashree Gehl Sampath, i. Chief Executive Officer of the Africa Pharmaceutical Technology Foundation (APTF), signed the Host Country Agreement between Rwanda and APTF.
“This agreement underscores a joint commitment to collaboration, innovation, and advancing pharmaceutical technology for the benefit our people and the entire continent,” said Minister Biruta in his remarks.
The signing ceremony coincided with the inauguration of Africa’s first mRNA-based product manufacturing facility in Rwanda.
“It is our wish that initiatives like this multiply across Africa, and the APTF can lead the way in this endeavor. Rwanda, as the host country, welcomes this opportunity to be part of the transformative mission for a healthier and more resilient Africa,” emphasized Minister Biruta.
