Minister Vincent Biruta holds meeting with his Turkish counterpart
Istanbul, 10 December 2022 - Vincent Biruta, Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation had a bilateral meeting with his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, on the sideline of Turkish Radio and Television (TRT) World Forum 2022.
The two ministers had a fruitful discussion on the excellent cooperation between Rwanda and Türkiye, as well as the upcoming visit of Minister Çavuşoğlu to Rwanda, early next year 2023.
The TRT World Forum 2022 took place from 09th to 10 December 2022, under the theme “Mapping the Future: Uncertainties, Realities and Opportunities". On its opening day, Minister Biruta participated in a panel discussion on Geopolitics.
Rwanda and Türkiye enjoy diplomatic relations since 18th February 1980 and opened diplomatic missions in Ankara and Kigali in 2013 and 2014, respectively. The bilateral cooperation increased significantly in different areas including peace and security, education, civil aviation, trade and investment.
The visit of Minister Biruta, as well as estblished regular exchange between Govenment officials, is a signal to the mutual commitment for the existing friendly relations and enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interests.
