Minister of State holds bilateral talks with First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba
Kigali, 10 September 2019Minister of State Amb. Olivier Nduhungirehe held bilateral talks with Mr. Marcelino Medina González, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba. The meeting discussed issues relating to bilateral cooperation including on the international scene and explored ways to establish mechanisms for political consultation as well asa avenues for inter- parliamentary cooperation between Rwanda and Cuba.
Minister of State thanked the Deputy Minister of Foreign affairs for his visit and Cuba’s brotherly friendship to African countries and to Rwanda in particular throughout the years. He expressed Rwanda’s readiness to deepen and strengthen cooperation with Cuba in various fields of mutual interest such as health, education and agriculture.
The Deputy Minister, Marcelino Medina González begun a tour of African countries from 4th to 11th September, where he will visit the Republic of South Africa, the Republic of Zimbabwe, the United Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Rwanda.
Rwanda and Cuba established diplomatic relations in 1979.
