Minister Biruta visits Jordan
Wednesday, August 9, Minister Vincent Biruta was on a two-day official visit in Amman, Jordan. He held a Strategic Dialogue with his counterpart, Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where a wide range of bilateral initiatives and projects were discussed.
"I wish to take this opportunity to announce that Rwanda has decided to have a diplomatic presence here in Amman. This is an important step to carry our cooperation forward for further collaboration in areas of mutual interest." Minister Biruta said. Watch
Three agreements were signed in this bilateral meeting, including a visa waiver agreement for holders of ordinary passports, an MoU on Housing and Urban Development, and an MoU on Diplomatic Training. Watch
During his stay in Amman, Minister Vincent Biruta paid a courtesy visit to His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan and stressed the importance of bolstering economic cooperation by encouraging private sector partnerships in both countries for investments in promising sectors.
