Minister Biruta addresses G77 and China Leaders’ Summit
Dubai, 2 December 2023 – Minister Vincent Biruta delivered a statement at the G77 and China Leaders’ Summit on Climate Change during the 28th Conference of Parties (COP28) in Dubai, UAE. In his remarks, he called for the restructuring of the international financial architecture to allow the fiscal space vulnerable nations need to tackle climate change.
He attended a high-level meeting on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), as Rwanda is hosting the next UN conference on LLDCs in June 2024. He also met with his counterparts, Hon. João Gomes Cravinho, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, and Hon. Catherine Colonna, Minister of Foreign Affairs of France. They discussed further strengthening cooperation.
